Organizational Structure

We are a multi-disciplined organization which started back in 1953 and today is engaged in an array of business activities, namely:

 

  • Travel and tourism: general sales agents - inbound and outbound tourism.
  • Tenders and EPC projects: power, oil and gas, water and waste treatment.
  • Trading and services in automotive and machinery: passenger cars, trucks, buses, earth moving machinery, building equipment (elevators - escalators), engines, and generating sets.
  • Engineering and consultancy: joint venture and partnership companies.
  • Construction and contracting: private projects and public tenders (general construction, housing, and infrastructure)
  • ICT: total solutions, trading, security, and turn-key projects.
  • Education and training: three training centers.
  • Duty Free Zone: representations and joint ventures.
  • Industry: agro and foodstuff, pharmaceuticals, disinfectants, sponge (mattresses), and plastic waste recycling (PET bottles).
  • Leisure: three hotels (Safir, Mashta Al Helu, Dar Al Noor).
  • Insurance and banking: joint venture insurance company in Syria in partnership with UAE partners and shareholding in a private bank in Syria.

 

The group's head offices are located in Damascus, with affiliate companies, joint ventures, and branch liasion offices in:

UAE - Lebanon - Iraq - Sudan - Jordan.

Total workforce of the group's affiliates and subsidies: 1,600+ (as of 31/5/2011).

The group's main bankers are in the UK, France, Lebanon, UAE, in addition to Syria. The group's external auditors are Messrs 'Ernst & Young', entrusted with issuing the group's annual financial statements according to IAS 'International Auditing Standard'.
